In Stock. A dynamic work by a dynamic Canadian composer. Full of rhythmic and melodic interest, this concert band original is a fantastic addition to the repertoire. The tuneful melody is passed throughout the ensemble and even low woodwinds and tubas have a short section of melody. Percussion parts animate the driving rhythms and elegant writing in the winds. Another great work by this talented composer, Celebration is a sure success on a concert or to win a competition.
Another dramatic work by Donald Coakley, Jubilant Dialogue is all that you have come to expect from this Canadian composer. There are a number of interesting percussion parts that add to the power and majesty of this 6 1/2 minute work. A flurry of upper woodwind trills punctuated by the brass sets the tone for the piece that builds in intensity all through the work. An excellent choice for senior high school bands or university/college groups.
Originally a wedding march for solo organ, this piece has been greatly expanded for the concert band. Fanfares in the brass and stately melodies make this a terrific change of pace on a concert. This could open a concert or be programmed in the middle of a concert for variety. Grand Procession is not too difficult and musically satisfying for audiences and players alike and is a great addition to the band repertoire.
