In Stock. This handbell work is based on the English folk tune Shepherd's Hey and the carols While Shepherds Watched their Flocks, How Great Our Joy, and The First Noel. The setting opens with narration quoting scripture from Luke, chapter two, making it especially suitable for the Christmas season (although you could start in measure 10 and cut the narration). Easily playable by the most modest handbell choir, it is mostly straight ringing, very few handbell changes, and uses stopped techniques. A fine number by another of handbells' fine composer/arrangers. Here is a listing of related products.
