The Jazz Workbook, Volume 1 is the first book of its kind. It is essential that single-note jazz instrumentalists, including guitarists, learn to hear and play through chord changes. As the book’s companion play-along CD does not include a chord instrument, the student can hear the sound of the chord on his or her own instrument. All of the exercises and melodic shapes in this book are completely written out for the student, so just playing through the exercises with or without a teacher will clear up many questions about harmony.
