Soccer players and fans of the game can relate to the excitement of scoring one’s very first goal, which is recreated in this solo written in 4/4 meter. Using Middle C position in A-B form, the A section is in A minor and the lyrics describe the frustration of never making a goal at practice. In the B section, the key changes to A major (with the use of accidentals) and the brighter sound coincides with the goal. The melody is divided between the hands and occasionally, both hands play together. The optional duet accompaniment adds to the fun.
