Fender introduced in 1958 its CUSTOM COLOURS to the market. In 1963 the colour CANDY APPLE RED emerges for the first time. The shown serial guitar is one of the first instruments in this very special color. The serial number is L18991. This guitar was made in 1963 and belongs to those instruments whose lacquer coat was applied upon a silver foundation. It represents the second period of the long Stratocaster™ history in which the one-piece-maple-neck was replaced by a maple-neck with glued rosewood fingerboard.
