This book is designed to teach advanced music reading concepts to the high school choir. The exercises are intended to function as short pedagogical studies which carefully aid in the training of the ear, eye, and mind. The melodies and harmonies are conventional and traditional so that a moderate degree of success can be achieved on the first reading. However, most of the exercises are designed to function as music reading studies, rather than sight-reading drills. Explain, study, and practice them several times (if necessary) for complete understanding and mastery. Once students have mastered the concepts, they are ready to transfer that learning to the actual reading of choral music.
