Eight-time Grammy winner George Benson is the star and subject of the first entirely new (i.e. never before released on VHS) Hot Licks DVD!
Filmed at George's house (and beginning with a pan around the instruments and awards he has acquired over the years,) George covers chord substitutions, turnarounds, the Wes Montgomery style, and much more. He also shows viewers his blues guitar techniques and solos over the famous "On Broadway" vamp. There's even a section in which he discusses and demonstrates his signature scat-style singing on another big hit of his, "This Masquerade."
Right-hand and left-hand techniques are shown in close-up, often in spilt-screen to be watched simultaneously. Portions of 35 of the examples George plays are notated in the accompanying booklet - each example can also be accessed quickly from the DVD menu, AND slow-motion versions of each example can also be accessed. The exercises also have a 'loop' feature that lets you watch them repeatedly & play along without the bother of continually picking up the remote!
Also includes tuning notes, artist biography and discography, suggested listening and a new introduction by Woody Mann.
